More than 150 building material dealers, manufacturers, and industry officials honored 11 of the industry's most creative and distinguished companies Thursday at PROSALES annual Excellence Awards breakfast.
The gathering in Las Vegas during the International Builders' Show also featured commentary from ProBuild CEO Paul Hylbert, who urged the industry to press Congress and the Obama administration for measures designed to revive the housing industry. (See story and video.)
The PROSALES Excellence Awards honor outstanding achievements in construction supply in showroom design, facility design, technology, marketing and customer service, advertising, and Web sites. It also recognizes business leaders whose creativity and ingenuity not only have improved and reinvigorated their own companies, but also set new benchmarks for service in the industry.

The winners also were featured in November's issue of ProSales ([http://www.prosalesmagazine.com/industry-news.asp?sectionID=424&articleID=596655] see stories) and each received a $500 check to give to the charity of their choice.
The Excellence Awards breakfast also provided the opportunity to recognize ProSales' latest Dealer of the Year, Erie Materials of Syracuse, N.Y. This award honors outstanding achievements in construction supply operations, management and innovations, as well as meritorious service to the dealer's community and to the lumber and building material industry. Only one construction supply dealer is chosen per year.
Erie was featured in the cover story in the January edition of ProSales. Erie president Bob Neumann received a framed copy of that cover during Thursday's breakfast.
